QLD Regional Studies began in 1994 as a small college with just two correspondence students. It was adream to make professional training available to all especially in the regions.

Consequently, the first training sessions in regional areas commenced in 1995. Queensland Regional Studies is managed by a team consisting of the principals, Marjo and Tomi Hamalainen, Training Manager, Julie Watt and the regional trainers. Marjo began her career in childcare, moved to massage, Marja Entrich natural skin care and now beauty therapy. Tomi has a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and is proficient in new technologies as well as inheriting business management and admin skills. Julie has been in the beauty industry for many years as a beauty therapist and as a trainer. As a mission, management and the regional trainers will cooperate as a team to provide the best possible training available for all our students.

The end result of beauty therapy training is the rewards in an industry that helps client’s skin , body and often their self esteem with it! Our high rate of graduate placement in salons is the greatest reward for effort by both students and staff.

Being a small training organisation you’ll get to know your tutors and fellow students very well. This provides you with much support during the course and we have seen many of our graduates work together in the industry.

The beauty industry has grown enormously in the last 20 years with technology and improved products. It is definitely a profession for the future! I hope you will see fit to take advantage of our professional training in a way that suits you.
